How it works

Three steps, from any phone

Sign in with your phone number

Open the Ovend Tax app and sign in with your phone number, or simply dial *347*489#. Your shops and vehicles are found by your number.

Top up your tax credit

Transfer from any bank to your own Ovend account number. The money waits as tax credit until you pay a levy with it.

Pay, and keep the receipt

Pay the levy in the app or by USSD. The receipt shows the date it is valid until, with a code any officer can check.

Check a notice before you act on it

Every final demand notice has a reference starting with FN-. Type it here, or scan the code on the notice, to see whether it is genuine and who served it.

Type what comes after FN- on the notice. Or dial *347*489*4#.
No officer will ever ask you for cash. Pay only in the Ovend Tax app or by USSD, from your own phone. The money goes straight to the State account: nobody holds it on the way. If anyone asks you for cash, do not pay.
Questions

Good to know

Do I need a smartphone or internet?

No. Dial *347*489# on any phone, on any network, to pay today's vehicle ticket, check a shop or a notice, top up, or register your shop. The app adds history, statements and buying shop days.

Who receives the money?

The State. Your top up becomes tax credit in your name, and each levy you pay goes from it straight to the State account. No collector, agent or officer handles it.

Where do I find my Shop ID or Waste ID?

On the sticker given when your shop or building was recorded, and in the app under My shops or Waste Management. The Tax Relationship Manager for your shop can also tell you.

How does an officer know I have paid?

Every receipt shows the date it is valid until and a code anyone can check. An officer can also check your plate or Shop ID by USSD, without internet.

Does it cost anything to use?

No. Signing up, registering a shop and using USSD are free. You pay only the levy itself.

I need help with a payment.

Open the app and go to Support, or call the Tax Relationship Manager shown on your shop. Keep the receipt number from your history: it helps us find the payment at once.
